Susan Lee MacDonald is a Multimedia Producer & Communications Consultant. A veteran broadcaster, educator and producer of TV/Radio and Documentary programs in Korea, she is also a seasoned executive and entrepreneur in the fields of business development and communications. Susan is the Founder and CEO of the Seoul based Agni Group and Agni Media.
A Harvard, Columbia and Seoul National University graduate and former analyst on Wall Street, Susan pivoted into media as one of the first Eurasians on Korean television. Susan’s highly rated program, Sooneung Teukgang, was one of a dozen shows she hosted and produced, watched by tens of millions weekly on EBS for over a decade. With ARIRANG TV, Susan wrote, hosted, and helped produce The INNERview talk show viewed in 188 countries with more than 125 hour-long episodes as well as several documentaries with the Untold Stories series. In addition to TV, Susan has been an active voiceover talent and for almost two decades was the main English voice for the Seoul, Busan and Daegu subway systems. Her voiceover work includes prestigious ad campaigns including Korean Air, Amore Pacific, and numerous characters for cartoons, apps, games, GPS, Voiceware TTS and more.
Susan has taught media and communications as a professor at the prestigious Seoul Institute of the Arts. As a columnist for Joongang and Donga Ilbo Newspapers, Susan has written about issues regarding discrimination against foreigners, cram schools, hyper competition as well as exploring kindness and meditation.
Working with Korea’s Buddhist Television Network (BTN) and garnering government grants, Susan hosted and produced “Meditation: Journey to finding myself” which tackled the serious issue of South Korea having the highest numbers of suicides amongst OECD countries and the possible ways to explore meditation as a solution and antidote.
Working on high-profile media campaigns have included Susan being one of the ambassadors for Seoul Metropolitan City’s Luxury Tourism campaign and Communications director for the Korean Ministry of Culture in Seoul’s bid to host the 2032 Olympics. Most recently, her efforts as Senior communications director helped the city of Gwangju win the bid to host the 2025 World Archery Championships.
A lifelong student of movement, spirituality and esoteric traditions, Susan is a certified yoga teacher (e-RYT 500), Zen/Son meditation teacher and Reiki Master Trainer. She has practiced and taught for over 20 years privately in India, Thailand, Korea, US and Europe. An INFJ, she loves to recharge with good pot of tea and may find her roaming tea plantations around the world as a tea afficionado and trekker.
